Underwater Glider

Since the spring of 2012 I have been working with the MIT Marine Robotics Team on various projects, including constructing an undersea glider designed to be deployed in fleets to monitor the BP oil spill. I traveled to Ketchikan, Alaska in August 2012 to test the glider with three other team members in open ocean and to present to a Discover Ocean Engineering group nearby the testing site. 

 

In the video below, FS is feet seawater, and CA is camera angle. We used these two figures to approximate our lowest depth of about 40 feet.
