Aurora Bearealis
No, that wasn't a typo! The Aurora Bearealis (Aurora Bear, for short) is a simple object I designed and mass-produced in the winter of 2011. The purpose of the Aurora Bear is to teach students of all ages soldering and critical thinking skills through the combination of simple circuit construction integrated into a 3D puzzle.
Since the original design, I have refined it several times for ease of manufacture and construction and have produced over 1000 complete sets. Aurora Bears have been distributed and constructed by students as far away as Juneau, Alaska. Bill Nye, Neil Degrasse Tyson, and President Barack Obama are among those in posession of an Aurora Bear.
