MacroKart

This ongoing gokart project has experienced several large problems including budgeting and manufacturing. A redesign of many parts in February 2014 got this project back on its feet after a long period of hibernation. The redesign involved staying away from waterjet cutting and made all of the parts feasible to manufacture using milling resources at BU.

At the end of summer 2014, the first 'official' version was completed. All metal/plastic parts and fully functional drive/braking system. In an effort to go faster, I modified the current shunt in the controllers and increased the effective power of the controllers. I had several 60A fuses on the system blow, and at 33V that's 2kW total. Eventually, those two controllers were both destroyed (FETs blew up) and I am now working on upgrading many aspects of the kart. I will be adding upgraded controllers, sensors, pneumatic wheels, and a new braking system.
