A custom 3D printed case for my iPhone is an ongoing project since freshman year. The goal was to design a minimalist case I could rely on to protect my phone and not cost me upwards of $30 to replace. It has gone through four major iterations and has successfully protected my phone from being damaged in any (visible) way.

 

I have given several cases out to my friends, who use them as long as they can before they break. I then go back into my designs and reinforce the areas that failed first.

 

Many of the upgrades involved thickening borders, adding chamfers for comfort, and altering dimensions to better fit the phone. Fun facts: Version 3 was printed from UV reactive filament, and Version 4 is made from glow-in-the-dark filament!
